Hai guise! The name's Kylie. This blog consists of Sherlock, Doctor Who, Cabin Pressure, Supernatural, The Avengers, and whatever else strikes my fancy. I curse a lot and post porn, so leave the youngins at home. Speaking of leaving things, you may also want to leave your heterosexuality at the door. You've been warned.

Ugh, yet another blog bitching about a female Watson. So, if you guys can't get your precious "slash", then it just isn't worth watching? Wow. Way to be narrowminded.

Oh hai, anon!  Are you one of the six followers that I’ve lost after my little rant on fem!Watson??

First of all, I don’t have a problem with fem!Watson. I really don’t. HOWEVER, what I do have a problem with, is the backstory for this particular incarnation of Watson. In this CBS version, Joan Watson:

  • is a DISGRACED doctor who lost her license due to the death of a patient.
  • is Sherlock’s “sober companion”, which I’m guessing is some kind of AA sponser.
  • more of a personal rant, but I just cannot stand Lucy Liu. She seems to be the worst choice to play Watson.

Again, it’s not the fem!Watson that bothers me, it’s just the new back story. As I said in a previous post, John is a war hero. John is brave, John is a BAMF. I’m just worried that with this “disgraced doctor” path, they’ll take away some of the aspects about John Watson that I love.

Plus, still a little miffed that they are still going through with this, even after they asked Moffat’s permission, and were told “NO”, but that’s a rant for another day.  Sorry if you think that I’m just hating on a fem!Watson, anon.  Because, I’m not.  I think, if done properly, fem!Watson could be amazing. However, I’m not too sure that CBS is doing it right…at all.
